Who we are
Dar Al Nur Community Center is operated by DarAlNur, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 52-2177565) at 7501 Little River Turnpike, STE G2, Annandale, VA 22003. This policy explains what this website collects, why, and what we do with it. It applies to dar-alnur.org and the forms on it.
Information you give us
- Registration details. When you sign up for a class, lecture series or event, we ask for your name, email address, phone number, and details relevant to that program, such as how many seats you need or the ages of students attending.
- Donation details. When you give, we receive your name, email address, billing address, the amount, and whether the gift is one-time or recurring. We use this to issue receipts and to keep the records a 501(c)(3) is required to keep.
- Messages. If you email or call us, we keep that correspondence so we can respond and follow up.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our server records standard technical information each time a page is requested: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the date and time. We use this for security and to understand which pages are useful. The site runs on WordPress, which sets cookies needed for the site to function and, if you log in, to remember you.
Payment information
We do not collect or store card or bank account numbers. Donations made through this site are handled by third-party payment providers, and your payment details go directly to them. Depending on how you choose to give, that may be Fundraise Up, Stripe, Square, Cash App, or your own bank through Zelle. Each provider handles your payment data under its own privacy policy and security standards, and we encourage you to read them.
How we use your information
- To process and acknowledge donations and issue tax receipts
- To register you for programs and contact you about them
- To send news about the center, our programs and our building campaign, where you have asked to hear from us
- To meet our legal, accounting and reporting obligations
- To protect the site and our community from fraud and abuse
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with other organizations for their own marketing. We share it only with the service providers who help us operate the center and this site, only as much as they need, and where the law requires it.
Keeping in touch
If you no longer wish to hear from us, reply to any message you receive or write to support@dar-alnur.org, and we will take you off the list.
Cookies
This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, and our payment providers may set their own cookies on the pages where you give. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then not work as intended.
How long we keep information
Donation records are kept as long as required for tax, accounting and audit purposes. Program registrations are kept for the length of the program and a reasonable period afterwards. You may ask us to delete anything we are not required to keep.
Your choices
You may ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, delete it where we are not legally required to keep it, or stop contacting you. Write to support@dar-alnur.org and we will respond within a reasonable time. Residents of Virginia and of some other states and countries have further rights under their local law, and we honour those requests on the same basis.
Children
Programs for children are registered by a parent or guardian, and we collect a child name and age only as needed to place them in the right class. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through this website.
Security
This site is served over an encrypted connection. We limit access to donor and registration records to the staff and volunteers who need them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Links to other sites
This site links to third-party services, including payment providers and social media. Once you follow such a link, this policy no longer applies and the other site policy does.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and material changes will be noted on this page.
